DVT Emulator Manager v1.0.0
note: this software requires the .Net Framework v.1.0 or higher

Software Description:
Silent
The Emulator Manager is a complement to the DVT Intellect software. It is intended to help launch Intellect projects by grouping system files and images into a single file which can be reopened by double clicking on the file or by downloading the file from a website. The Emulator Manager will handle figuring out what version of the software to open and configuration of the image sequence. This ideally will streamline product demonstrations and training for new users.

UI
There is an optional user interface that allows browsing for system files and images and launching them from there. The UI includes file browsing and filtering, display of system file and image information, thumbnail display of image sequences and automatic/manual selection of the best matching version of Intellect for the selected system file.

Features:
-Double clicking a *.dvtzip file launces closes matching installed version of Intellect with images and system file.
-Right clicking a *.dvtzip file exposes the option to unzip the file contents to the current directory.
-Shift+right clicking on a folder exposes the option to create a *.dvtzip file from that folder and its contents.
-Shift+right clicking on a *.dvtzip file exposes the option to open the file in the Emulator Manager UI.
-Includes sample projects built for Intellect 1.3.0

Installation:
NOTE: This software requires installation of the .Net framework version 1.1 or higher.

Run (double click) the file 'Setup.exe'. This will install the software to your default Program Files directory under /Cognex/DVT/EmulatorManager.

The installation will also create the folder /DVT Emulator Manager Files in /MyDocuments. This folder will contain two subfolders, /Examples and /Projects. /Examples will contain example *.dvtisys files. /Projects is left empty and can be used to store future user projects.

Run-time:
You should close all open vesions of Intellect or FrameWork before using the EmulatorManager. It can manage all versions of Intellect that it launches, but it cannot manage instances opened by the user. The Emulator Manager does use port 3246 temporarily to transmit system files to a new emulator, so use of this port will cause problems when trying to launch new projects.

While the Emulator Manager is running, it uses the original file locations if possible. *.dvtzip files must be de-compressed to your profile's temporary folder. These files are deleted when either the dependent instance of Intellect or the Emulator Manager are closed. If theses files are deleted or moved before either Intellect or the Emulator Manager are done using them, you will notice file permissions violations or blank images in Intellect, so avoid doing this.

Troubleshooting:
All problems can likely be solved by simply closing the Emulator Manager and re-opening it. If it doesn't like something you are doing, you will likely see an error message with an explanation. If you are using the UI, keep an eye on the lowr left hand corner of the window for status information.
